If you are the same way, i recommend reading Dirt to Soil by Gabe Brown. The way he writes this books makes it incredibly easy to follow. He takes you along with him on his family's journey to restoring the land after many years of failed attempts.

In a few short seasons, we have seen a tremendous difference in our kitchen garden beds!

Our plants are healthy and we have minimal pest pressure. All because we started cover cropping, stopped tilling and allowed animals into the space again.
